Chandigarh: SSC entrance exams are conducted on all India basis to recruit for lower position in Indian government offices. Staff selection is the authoritative body responsible for conducting this exam. The role of this body is to formulate the policies, strategies to conduct this exam smoothly.

Through this exam, recruitment is done on the non-gazette posts of group ‘B’ and for the post of non-technical group ‘C’.

Eligibility for SSC Exam:

1. Educational qualification varies from matric to graduate for various posts.
2. Age limit varies for different posts in SSC. Normally it lies between 18 to 27 years. However, there is 3 to 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST and OBC Candidates.

Notification about the SSC exam is published in newspaper in every October month in the leading newspaper of India, including the employment news. Candidates who are willing to go for this exam should send the completed application form along with the required documents and certificates through speed post or registered post only.

Various Exams Conducted Under SSC are:

1. Combined Matric Level Examination: Minimum qualification for this exam is either metric or high school.
2. Combined Higher School Exam: Minimum qualification for this exam is higher secondary in any discipline.
3. Graduate Level Examination: Minimum qualification for this exam is graduation in any discipline.

Those candidates who will clear the staff selection prelims exam can only be allowed to give the mains exam.

Those who clear the mains also are supposed to clear the interview round.
